Atlantic Riders works with Chelles Collection specializing surf movies and photography.
Michelle is our movie maker & photographer.
Her interest in photography was inspired by traveling around Australia. On retuning she gave up the security of full time work & moved to Newcastle upon Tyne to embark on the Photography Foundation Degree, going on to complete her BA Hons. Her hard work and creativity won her the title Student of the Year. Within a couple of months, she was singled out to attend an interview for an international acclaimed Portrait company and continued to work for them for four years. She has worked with many clients including businesses, bands, wedding parties & now surfers, and both joint and solo exhibitions.
Her interest in surfing grew from a stay in Portugal where she originally went WOOFING (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) with a friend, and then decided to extend her stay. Michelle was inspired by the surfing community, and making her first local surfing movie: 'One Day in Aljezur', both captured the waves and spirit of the local surf scene. She continues to enjoy her work taking photographs and making films of local surfers, and many of her images can be seen on Magic Seaweed.
Having been privileged to spend so much time on beaches, both playing and working, it was hard not to notice all the plastic that is washing up on the shore. Using photography Michelle is documenting this on the Blog and Facebook group, she was moved to co-found; 'Plastic´s not Fantastic'.
This summer she is excited to be working with Atlantic Riders! She will be on hand to capture the spirt of your surf trip. She is also available for private portrait sessions. This may not be something you would consider while on holiday, but why not? You will be relaxed, regenerated & the locations are awesome!
